Job Title: Associate Director of Strategic Client Initiatives
Role Overview:
The Associate Director of Strategic Client Initiatives will work closely with the Eurasia Group management team and business leaders to pursue significant commercial opportunities for the firm. This role cuts across various aspects of our business, from sales and client service to advisory research, events, and media. The associate director will be responsible for helping us construct large proposals in pursuit of a diverse range of new or additional business with clients or prospects. The individual we hire will need to be able to learn quickly about what Eurasia Group does and how our business is evolving, and then build on that knowledge to think creatively and move fast to construct new commercial proposals and pitches for clients and prospects.
Additionally, a key element of this role is to organize our internal processes to monitor and push forward large commercial opportunities, evaluate our top client engagements for their sustainability and growth potential, and also assess our global competitive environment. Thus the role requires someone with agility and eagerness, and also very strong organizational and project management abilities. The person in this role must also be able to work diplomatically within a dynamic and growing organization.
Responsibilities:
Identification and Pursuit of Commercial Opportunities:
- Collaborate with the management team in pursuing major commercial opportunities across the range of corporations and businesses that we consult for.
- Develop drafts of discussion documents, client emails, and related materials to propose new business opportunities.
- Identify areas where Eurasia Group can expand and enhance our offerings to clients.
- Drive robust research on our global competitive environment to support our growth efforts and broader business strategy.
Organization or our client pursuit and evaluation processes:
- Organize our internal processes to track, evaluate, and push forward large commercial opportunities and evaluate the status of our largest clients.
- This will require having a constant “finger on the pulse” for the status of roughly 100 potential commercial opportunities and existing client relationships, that are all changing in real time.
- Help us improve on our current processes, utilize CRM and project management tools (ie. Salesforce, Monday.com) to stay organized, and regularly report to senior leadership on the status of opportunities and client engagements.
Business Acumen and Communication:
- Demonstrate a strong background in some combination of political analysis, public affairs, strategic communications, external affairs and engagements, business, and finance, with experience constructing significant commercial relationships.
- Display a keen interest in global affairs, politics, and global policy. Understand the ecosystem in which Eurasia Group competes for business and the key nodes (ie global events and convenings, leading non-profit initiatives, global political events, business conferences, etc). at which we would seek to engage with clients.
- Possess excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills, delivering compelling arguments and engaging with clients effectively.
- Work with data in Excel to support analysis and decision-making.
Collaboration and Organizational Skills:
- Work independently while collaborating with various teams within Eurasia Group effectively.
- Display exceptional organizational skills, ensuring the efficient handling of tasks and the management of others.
- Engage positively with senior leaders, demonstrating the ability to manage up and contribute to their objectives.
Client Relationship Management:
- Ensure the provision of exceptional service to our largest clients across our advisory and media businesses.
- Manage and retain client accounts, actively contributing to the growth and development of existing relationships.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand and meet their specific needs.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in client service, interacting confidently with clients in the service industry.
- Business acumen, with a background in business or finance, establishing significant commercial relationships.
- Interest in global affairs, politics, and experience working in global policy or politics.
- Proficiency in fundamental job skills, including excellent writing, public speaking, and analytical abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with and support senior leaders.
- Commitment to excellence and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
- A passion for the work, a sense of humor, and an ability to fit seamlessly into a unique and vibrant company culture.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $95,500
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
